Carolina Green Industry Network believes that we all have an incredible obligation to maintain best practices. It's our belief that we should protect storm drains, creeks and river streams, reduce pollution, reduce energy necessary to maintain. We should be at the front of the communication stream explaining expectations and horticulture practices in order to grow and sustain and reproduce turf areas.
The turf is also closely tied and connected to water management. Turf types include Fescue, Bermuda, hybrids of both varieties, Zoysia, Centipede, Ryegrass, Bluegrass, St. Augustine, etc. In its truest form, turf is a single variety which is maintained from those specific recommended specifications allowing those environmental conditions to dictate the final process. Often we have conditions such as shade that increases annually, weather conditions and traffic. Members within CGIN integrate all those factors within their programs. We will share best practices. CGIN will provide education to improve member's value to the consumer. Members will provide leadership to the community as a spoke person for the turf profession. We are environmental sensitive, understanding that there is an aesthetic and monetary value in the market place that is to be balanced. |
