A 1,000 acre study of a tree preserved residential community with a typical number of common species in a metropolitan area showed impressive benefits. The study showed the trees remove 1,485 tons of pollution from the air. In layman's terms, the trees store the equivalent of carbon emissions of 182,717 cars for one year, or the equivalent of emissions of 106,792 single family homes for a year. Had these trees been removed due to lack of input from professional arborists, all this pollution abatement would have been lost.
